Ready for winter? Got all your gear ready? Great! Now lets just go over one more thing to make sure that you have an amazing time every time you hit the slopes. We’re talking about staying hydrated.
Dehydration can set in quickly once you’re on the mountain. Sometimes all it takes is just one run and you can start to notice dry chapped lips and cottonmouth. By the time you take your second run you might start to feel the onset of a headache and if you don’t address this by the time your third run comes along, you may start to experience some cramping. How do we know this? Because it’s happened to us many times!
So how do you avoid dehydration the next time hit the mountains?
Mix HDX with 16 ounces of water before you head up the hill, drink some water every couple of hours and then mix another pack of HDX with 16 ounces of water midday and you should be well hydrated. But keep in mind, everyone’s body is different – the plan we just mentioned is a simple one but pay close attention to your body. Your body will tell you when it needs to be hydrated.
A small investment in keeping your body hydrated will go a long way in helping to ensure you have a great day on the mountain.
