Hydration Vital to Flu Prevention

The 2015 flu season is here now and there’s the normal influx of news articles on ways to prevent the flu and the various remedies if you do catch it. However most people don't realize how vital it is to keep the immune system of the body in good working order by ensuring that it is properly hydrated with the adequate amount of water daily.
“In order to keep your immune system healthy, you should eat a nutritious and balanced diet, minimize stress, get lots of sleep, exercise regularly, and most importantly stay hydrated!” Said Dr. Bryan Doonan from Urgent Care at Newport Center. “For the immune system to perform optimally so that it could resist disease I highly recommend drinking water and HDX to maximize hydration.”
Doctors are fully aware of the key role water plays in keeping us healthy. Dry indoor air along with the colder fall and winter temperatures can also cause dehydration and bring on flu like symptoms. Other activities that might cause dehydration include skiing, snowboarding and flying on a plane.
The simplest way to fight off the flu is to stay hydrated.
